Our Story

Years ago, Marina contacted Jennifer to be a brain expert on a television show.  Jennifer (the introvert) said no, but held onto Marina’s number.  Seven years later, Jennifer and Michelle met and got into a lively conversation about all the things they know now that they wish they knew when they were twenty-two.  Michelle (the extrovert), had already been thinking about ways to make psychiatry more accessible, and started exploding with ideas about how to share this knowledge.  Let’s write a book!  No, wait—let’s make a video!  Jennifer remembered Marina and knew she was the person to make it happen.  Marina, a former CNN anchor and producer at Associated Press, suggested a podcast and YouTube channel.  With so much stigma around psychiatry, and many psychiatrists only offering 15-minute appointments, they decided to create a broader platform to share insights about the human experience.  The result is a listener-driven interactive podcast—Love and Flowers and You – where the “You” is you!  Send your questions or topics you’d like covered to loveandflowersandyou@gmail.com.
